Firsts are important!

First impression, first kiss, first love, first wedding. Well sometimes firsts are also lasts, I hope that’s the case for Kyle and Natalie when it comes to weddings as they are a lovely couple who I hope will have a long happy marriage together. They are also incredibly brave as this was also a first for me being the first wedding I’ve photographed. It was a long  and busy day capturing everything from them but I couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of people to have done it for. From the drizzly morning at Sanquhars St Brides Church until the final dance at Biggars Cornhill House Hotel, the happiness radiated from them and their family and friends which made the 18 hour day fly in for me.

The nice thing about having your day job in a school is you get to know about and sometimes even take part in events you’d never normally know had happened. This year for world book day at Dumfries High School one of the English teachers organised a fancy dress day with the theme of graphic novel characters to promote reading in the school.
