Well something a bit different last night which was spent photographing the dress rehearsal for Dumfries High Schools run of Grease. This will likely be the last show run by principal teacher of music Stewart Solley who also directed me in Jesus Christ Superstar when I attended the school many more years ago than I’d like to admit.
I had great fun at the preview, the cast and crew were amazing and the production has gone above and beyond this year. I’m looking forward to getting to sit and enjoy it properly on Friday night.
There’s still limited tickets available from the opening tonight until Fridays performance, Saturday’s already sold out. If you’ve not got tickets it’s well worth getting in touch with the school office to book some if you’ve not already done so. Continue reading ›
Had a fun studio style shoot at the weekend with the Johnstons. I’ll be honest it’s fairly cramped in my house when all the studio gear is out but I do love getting to play with my toys. Thankfully it was made easier by the fact that Jamie is one of the smartest, best behaved toddlers I’ve ever met.
Thanks for your time guys, here’s a wee preview from the day. Continue reading ›
Dumfries High Schools latest show is a performance of the musical Grease. Running from Tuesday 23rd June to Saturday 27th June this will be the third running of Grease in a year that marks long running show producer and music & arts Principal Teacher Stewart Solley’s final year. The show is ramping up to be one of the best yet and as part of the promotional material I was delighted to be asked to shoot the photographs to be distributed to the press to advertise this years show. With a distinct lack of vintage 1948 Ford Deluxes driving on Dumfries’s roads we were lucky enough to contact Excalibur Limos who kindly donated one their classic Cadillacs to stand in. Despite a fairly chilly day the cast were in great spirits and we managed to use what we had to make some awesome photos which should be appearing locally soon. Continue reading ›
The nice thing about having your day job in a school is you get to know about and sometimes even take part in events you’d never normally know had happened. This year for world book day at Dumfries High School one of the English teachers organised a fancy dress day with the theme of graphic novel characters to promote reading in the school. Armed with this info I was only too happy to offer my services to shoot portraits of the staff who took part. Continue reading ›
